Default I built a bankroll but i now lack direction. Need help for next lev.

Ok...I've been playing 10handed as my new bread and butter for 2 months at pacific. in the last month i have consistently destroyed 25$nl and gone from $1400 to $3100. playing 4-5 hours a day or there abouts. I only play 1 table, i don't have poker tracker but i record my sessions. (mainly to plug playing tired leaks and for basic info) When i play my "A" game at 50$ i beat it but out of laziness and not having to deal with -varenice to much i play mostly my b- game at 25$ and still pretty much destroy it. My bankroll is ridiculasly too big for 25$ now and i know i need to change something.

Unfortunity, at Pacific all 25$nl games are 10handed and 50$ is mostly half full tables. so the jump is bigger then usual because the only player's in 10handed games are one's who want "not have" to be there. I did used to play shorthanded almost exclusivly, but with 2 months str8 of 10handed i might be my strongest game now. I used to play a wide range of games everyday a few months back, (SH, HU, MTT, sng's, nitro's ect) so i guess i have fairly well rounded skills. I switched to 10handed so i could have more of a speicality and make more money. But now i know i must make a change but im not exactly sure what to do.

Should i move my money to a site where i can try my hand at multi's? move up to 50$ 10handed? try 50$ short handed games for the donk's and kinda waste the last 2 months of exp? sadly, im the best player i know IRL and lack a mentor to guide me. Just curious to here from anyone else who's been in the spot or just knows whats up. I know there's rakeback groups out there too, but i kinda need direct advice or guidence to get off my butt and do something. I'm a smart guy who is passionite about the game and i have ambitions to going Pro or at least part time pro someday. I have good skills at eating up fish but i must admit that my sophistacated play against good players is lacking a bit because there few and far between at 25$nl on Pacific. My goal is to better my overall play while still making decent money. Basicly, my game is growing a little "stagnent".

Oh, and im a pretty personable guy IRL. and ideas in how to meet some real life mentors? i live 45min's from foxwoods casino.

I've never been to Foxwoods specifically but if you're owning Pacific 25NL and you have 3K+ immediately remove half the money and drive to Foxwoods.

I'd say move to either Stars or Party. Much better game selection. And definitely move up already. NL50 at least, maybe even take shots at NL100.

I was thinking of maybe moving the cash to royal vegas and trying my hand at multitabling 25$, but I can't see that improving my sophistcated play at all. But your right, i should at least move somewhere with better 50$ games. Thx for the response

Ok here's the thing. I play a smart, TAG game. And i don't know how the lowest limit NL games are raked at other casinos, but at foxwoods its 1/2$ 100max with a 5 dollar rake every half hour. plus if there a waiting list half the time you half to post the "time" rake a few minutes after you sit down. Granted there's donkeys there but if you don't pick up any hands for a while you stack disinagrates quite quickly. The kids who play semi-pro there (who play my basic style) say in a 30-40hour week they usually only make a few hundred on avg. do to the horrid rake structure. I was thinking i'd have to wait until my Roll was big enough to handle at LEAST 2/5 games. I've read that 1/2 games are casino's are nearly "unbeatable" because of the rake structure. Do other casinos just rake the pot at 1/2? cause "time" takes away alot of the advantage of playing Tight. (with raked pots the more pots you play the more the house gets of course) thx for the reply

Correct.

Don't play that 1/2 game.

That time charge of 5 big blinds per hour (about 15 big blinds per 100 hands) is unbeliveable.

Play another game (higher?) or don't play.

What are the rakes for the higher games?

At the Seneca Niagara they take $3 from the 1/2 on the flop and another $1 when the pot reaches $40. My preflop strategy for this game is bet $17 or fold - Almost never limp.

All of my experiences at Foxwoods have been quite to the contrary. These players are so loose, and so bad, that a smart tight agressive player should net WAY more than $100-$200 in a 30-40 hour session (or combination of sessions).

Perhaps your friends have leaks. I would HIGHLY recommend playing the 1/2 NL games at Foxwoods.

I'm going this weekend and probably just completely jinxed myself, oh well.

I don't know the rake for higher games...And wow, i don't know if thats better or worse then foxwoods, for a tight player, maybe better though. Its standard to raise it up to 12$ at 1/2 at foxwoods. why 17$ though? i understand you gotta beat the pot rake, but why not 15$ then? it would till leave around 30$ in the pot right? thx for the response

Agreed; Foxwoods 1/2 NL is the softest NL game I've ever played (including several places in both Vegas and AC) and it isn't close.

Ghazban, your Avatar looks familiar, are you at Foxwoods often? What tables do you play?
