Default Hand from $11+$1 satellite

$11+$1 satellite. Final table. Tickets for #1 and #2. Villain has been tight and a little weak. Blinds are 300/600.

Seat 4: MP1 ($11,317 in chips)
Seat 5: Button ($5,282 in chips)
Seat 7: SB ($6,477 in chips)
Seat 9: Hero ($8,984 in chips)
Seat 10: UTG ($8,440 in chips)

Hero is BB with 10S,10H

ANTES/BLINDS
SB posts blind ($300), BB posts blind ($600).

PRE-FLOP
UTG folds, MP1 bets $1,500, Button folds, SB folds, Hero calls $900.

FLOP [board cards 9C,8H,JD ]
Hero bets $3,000, MP1 bets $9,817 and is all-in, Hero ????

call and hope he has AK. only 4 hands you are behind and you have 1/3 of your stack in the pot, folding leaves you short stack at 10BB's. villain has K's, you suck out on the river with a 10. happy ending.

(sorry you got beat, but you have to take some chances to win)

OK, I'll come clean. Actually, I'm the villain in this one. I had JQo.

The 'hero' had been very loose and aggressive and I guess that's why he put such a huge bet in after the flop. Am I right that I probably wouldn't be able to get him off the pot after that with my all-in?

actually I did not see that the action was after the flop. thought u raised allin preflop. probably hard to push him off his open end with "2nd" pair. he has 10 outs and may have best hand already.
