Default Weird bluff

1/2nl live game. Stacks are mostly in the $150 range. 8-handed.
BB had been kind of semi-loose/passive, UTG seems kind of tight/passive.

Hero is in sb holding 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
UTG limps, everyone else folds. Hero completes, BB checks.

Flop: ($6 Pot)
2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
3 checks.

Turn: ($6 Pot)
7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
Hero checks, BB bets $4, UTG calls $4, Hero makes it $12, BB folds, UTG calls $8
Do you like this bet? I'm thinking any 8, 9 or T on the river will be a winning hand, and I can probably bluff the river anyway.

no I hate it.

you might as well telegraph that you have some kind of draw.

do big made hands really checkraise the turn like that?

of course your opponent might be stupid enough to not think through it but against a good player its fairly obvious you have some kind of combo draw like 45h or 35h or 89h.

also why do you think any 9 or T will be good?

lots of players wait until the turn to bet with top pair weak kicker, the 7 could have also 2 paired somebody's 67, or somebody could be betting a heart draw.

Does it change anything that both villains were very weak?

I don't know.

on the one hand your fold equity goes up if they are weak, on the other, they aren't betting with just a pair of 7s if they are weak.

so its a double edged sword.

No it makes it worse.....unless you mean weak/tight.
If you just mean they are bad players, then they aren't folding to the raise.

A decent player might read this as a lot of strength as only a really strong hand would try for the checkraise twice.....although I commonly give more credit for this if the player checks in last position on the flop, then raises the turn. A weak player will think of some reason to look you up with a trash hand and will almost always beat you since you only have at most 10 outs, and some of those are likely tainted.

This almost always works when I do it, except I make it $20 here and I would have 89[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] here.

Well villain hesitated and then called, and river brought a Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. Board is now:
2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
Pot is $34.
Villain seemed hesitant to call the turn bet. Should I ever fire a second shot here?

1) if you're going to make that bluff, make it bigger, like $20.
2)does the Q help him? probably not - bet $30-$35 on the end and hope for a fold

I feel like betting the pot on the river looks bluffish. Don't people usually bet something like 2/3 to 3/4 of the pot with a made hand?

its a tradeoff.

big bets look bluffish, little bets offer good odds.

hard to balance. I would have to go with previous hands where I made a river bet.
