Default Hand from Party 33, good push or sucky?

Hero has been completely card dead the whole tournament. I played 2 hands the 1st hour. 99 and took the blinds and doubled with KhQh when I flopped a flush. 2nd hour was even less eventful. I blinded away a portion of my stack, pushed A/5 and sucked out A10, then pushed QJ and sucked out AK. It's been ugly, but I refuse to be blinded out.

3rd hour just started. Blinds 200/400 and I have 2100 left after posting. Avg. is 6K. 100 left, 80 pay.

Hand: 1 limper, SB completes. I check 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

(1200) Flop: 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] SB checks, I push.

Thoughts?

I would have just bet 3/4 the pot. Your most likely ahead here unless middle posistion was limping with a monster but IMO he was playing loose because he had the chips. Your push is fine but I would have bet 3/4 pot...you could use a stop and go line here after the flop. Bet 3/4 pot and if someone calls push to any turn.

I make that push every time.

I feel like you understand why, but this hand didnt work out for you. Maybe the limper had 77 or A8s, but don't worry about it. You're usually ahead here but a free card is absolutely disastrous. You need that pot like you need air, so take your shot.

There's 1200 in the pot and I only have 2100 behind. Betting 800 sucks IMO.

Not if you plan to push on the turn no matter what...if you push on the flop he is likely to call with 77 or 88, but if another over comes on the turn and then you push for you last 1300 chances of winning the pot are much higher. Im not saying bet 3/4 pot then fold.
