Default 30/60 full. posted here because i despise M/H

very loose game, on the passive side for this level. i have been cold carded and not in many hands, for what thats worth.

only definite reads:
8 handed

SB: Loose passive

EP: Passive postflop and probably preflop. postflop im certain of it as he allowed me to bet 2nd pair in a raised pot when he had an overpair

EP limps
Button Limps
SB completes
I check with ATo (yeah, i raise this a lot. sometimes i dont though)

4 for 2BB's

flop is 373r

check, I bet, EP folds, button calls, SB folds.

2 for 3

J

I bet, he calls

2 for 5

4 (completes backdoor flsuh)

Do I just give up on this altogther?

in retrosepct thats a better plan i think, however when presented with the chance to get him to fold i busted my nut on the turn.

I'd probably play it the way you did, and check-call the river.

It seems that his flop peel is almost always overs to the 7 or another A-hi (likely worse than yours since no PFR). I'd bet the turn expecting hands like K9 to fold, and be happy with it.

Sure that's a viable option, but on this board, I'm feeling good about my turn bet. THen the river blows.

Check/fold because the only conceivable hands you beat are worse A-high's and K-high's, and he's usually checking those behind on the river.

Oh, and I like the turn bet. He could be peeling this flop with lots of junk, and people don't usually bluff-raise turns in these situations. Also, I think you'll be giving a free card fairly often if you check.

i like your flop and turn line and i agree with a river checkfold. villain isnt holding 2 random cards at this point unless hes a total fish with 9T or something. he almost always has a pair here and if he doesnt its probably a high card. hopefully hes not one of these donks that likes to valuebluff ace high after youve checked the river.

the problem with your situation is that alot of opponents are going to read your flop bet as a pure steal and dont want to let you take it down so easily. however, i dont think many players are going to just call your turn bet with absolutely nothing and hope you checkfold the river, especially in an aggressive game like 30/60.
