When do you favour taking the line of c/r?

One eksample: Hand 8,T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] BB
Mp raises 3x bb, button calls, call

Flopp comes 7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

I check. Most likely one of the players is on a pp, and seeing the flush draw they want to charge. Original raiser leads a reasonable amount of time, limper might come along, fold or try to make a move, legit or not. I come over the top. I dont mind taking it now and have a reasonable amount of outs to still pull it off if not. If their play was with air they fold, if they are in the habit of seeing ghosts they fold.

What situations, reads and flopps do u favour a c/r with?

As it is a move that very often either stops the action right away or gets real heavy action. How do you design your raise to achieve what?
