Default 4 to the SF:AKo

$.25/.50 NL 6 handed homegame

Hero-$80
Villan 1-$100
Villan 2-$50

Villan 1 seems a bit loose, but not too out of line.Seems ok post-flop. Villan 2 just sat down. Sorry for the lame reads.

Hero is in MP with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
Villan 1 limps in EP to hero, who raises to $2. Villan 2 calls in the SB, villan 1 calls. 3 to the flop...

($6.5)Flop: 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
Villan 2 checks. Villan 1 checks. Hero bets $5. Both call.

($21.5)Turn: 10[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
Villan 2 bets $5. Villan 1 raises to $20. Hero???

... rolls his eyes and folds. You've got the Ace, so what's going on here? One is betting the Queen and the other is raising the King? Maybe, but is it worth investing a bunch of money to find out? If someone is bluffing, let him have this one. I think the danger of reraises and all-ins behind your $20 call is way too real.

Why would he blow everyone out of the pot if he had a straight flush?

Because he has one person betting into him and another behind him and he figures the Ace and King will pay him off which is EXACTLY what happens when you start thinking "why would he...?" at $50 6-max tables in this situation. Since you're asking that question, why not ask another equally important one: if he doesn't have the straight flush, why is he inviting the orignial bettor to reraise him by reopening the betting with his raise? He cannot possibly have the Ace here because it's in Hero's hand so what does he like enough to raise into two players with four to a straight-flush on the board? Besides, who says the villain doing the raising has the straight flush? The other guy led 1/4 of the pot into two players. That's the kind of bet that's begging to get raised.

Also, calling $5 and raising $15 more is hardly "blowing" anyone out of the pot. $26 after the first villain's river bet + $5 from villain #2*'s call (before we add in his raise) = $31, so villain #2 is raising $15 into a $31 pot.

Hero folds. Villan 2 raises all-in, Villan 1 calls. Villan 2 shows K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], while Villan 1 shows 10 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]10 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. Hero screams.

Then you'll remember this next time and you'll call and end up screaming when they both show you different ends of the straight flush. Good fold.
