Am I Checking the Turn too Much?
2 Loose Limpers, I Raise AQ of hearts from MP1, BB and loose lippers call. 4 to the flop for 8.5 SBs.
Flop is JT6 with with two hearts. Checked to me, I bet, only one of the loose limpers call. Villain will call with any piece of the board. Turn is an 8, villain checks, I check. Any reason not to take a free card? Villain will doesn't bluff to frequently and for the most part is passive. |

Re: Am I Checking the Turn too Much?
When you say call with any piece of the board, do you mean call down, or peel and fold? This is where notes about peeling or fold to flop and turn bet stats come in handy, but usually against one player I bet again and try to win it right there.

Re: Am I Checking the Turn too Much?
He'll call down if he paired, fold the river with draws, maybe sometimes call with A hi. So when I bet the turn I'm going to get called a lot. Over 70% at least I'd figure.

[/ QUOTE ] But this is not a bad thing for your turn bet. If you're bluffing with the best hand, you love another call from a draw or ace high. I bet the turn against 1 and check behind on the river. |

against 1 or 2 players who are not too tricky, i bet/fold the turn and check behind on the river, i think you still have the best hand here some portion of the time

Re: Am I Checking the Turn too Much?
Hmmm. Well I would like to say bet the turn. But in this case check.
This is because if you bet he will call you most of the time with garbadge pair and then you'll lose the river. If you check, get the free card and make something you can bet then and you'll almost always get the curiosity call. I definately think taking a free card against a call station is correct here. [/ QUOTE ] I would always raise here. If you think he is going to call with any piece of the board, why not build the pot? In this situation you have 17 outs to improve your hand, (nut flush and straight, plus 3xAs 3xQs). If you think he will call, and with such a large amount of outs, it not worth getting a bet in now? |
