Default Corporate Pressure To Legalize Alcohol for 18+

Why isn't there massive pressure to legalize alcohol from beer, wine, and the multitude of other alcohol companies, and restaurants? Or rather, I think there has to be a lot of pressure from those huge industries, it is surprising then that the age limit is not 18+. Also considering it's well accepted a drink a day is very healthy for you, maybe it's about time this law be changed.

A company coming out and endorsing lowering the drinking age would be suicide. The pressure works exactly the opposite way: if you noticed, most alcoholic beverage producers include anti-drunk driving/underage drinking sentiments all over their advertising.

puritanical america is a crazy place. Logic and common sense is tossed out the window for sake of christian ideology.

thats a ridiculous statement. If it is true, why are alldrugs not legalized?? surely the market forces of being able to sell a new product would make them legal. Oh wait, the free market is total bs, I almost forgot.

just to let you know, states can change their drinking age to less than 21, which is legal even though federal law is 21. However if they do this, they then wont be allowed to get federal funding for roads.

The raising of the drinking age to 21 was not as a result of puritanical Christians. MADD and other groups played a significant role in this. As far as I know, MADD is not a puritanical Christian organization.

That may be true, but there are secular reasons for having a drinking age, and there are secular people/organizations who wanted the increase to 21. I have never viewed this as a religious issue. I am pretty sure the soccer moms are big fans of this.
