This sounds awfully results oriented to me. If he calls down unprofitably with an ace, more power to him (and more $Sklansky to us). How would you play more aggressively; checking the flop and turn?

You could have played no limit and gone all in, that probably would have gotten him to fold.

In limit poker, though, frequently your opponents just won't fold. That's the way it goes. This is fine, you make money off them when they stay in until the river with a weak hand and no pot odds.

You know when the hand convertor messes up and you sometimes see hands where hero raises his own turn bet and stuff? You could have tried that.

Seriously, you played it ok. I'd probably value-bet the river and expect to see a low pair about half the the time or so.

I'm not good enough to make this river bet.

I can't see UTG limping, and sticking around, with too much we beat right now (when called). 88, 99, TT are all I've got, but a whole lot more than beat us and a few that c\r.

I've got so much to learn.
