Raise. There's a decent enough chance that your hand is best. Get CO and Button out of your way.

IMO, call and raise non-spade turns. Punish. Punish. Punish.

Re: stars 10/20, 88 vs a flop donk
okay, thx.
Anyway, I raised. folded back to MP who called, and donked a brick turn + river. MP shows 98o and MHING. I really needed verification on this. I thought it was super-basic, but i'm having these absurd bouts with self-doubt, is it possible to be a winner, blah blah blah. I'll feel better about this tomorrow hopefully. Surf |

Re: stars 10/20, 88 vs a flop donk
Unless he's highly aggro and bluffy, I'm folding the turn after he donks again. This second gaybet is almost always a "I have TPWK that I couldn't 3-bet the flop with but I really, really, really don't want to give a free card" type of gaybet.
Yeah, occasionally you'll be folding the best hand on the turn, but the problem with calling the turn is that you have to call the river too. |

Unless you have a solid read there is nothing else you should do.

Re: stars 10/20, 88 vs a flop donk
Hi Stellar:
If you think it is this important that we show the hand down after the turn re-donk, wouldn't it be better to just raise the turn and take the free showdown? |

Re: stars 10/20, 88 vs a flop donk
well you have to consider the third donk bet... it happens and can be very frustrating (or very fun when you have top boat or something).
Also I've seen this place quite often with something like Ace high, and sometimes people will fold to the second raise of donk bets... which could be a bad thing, if they are going to try to value bet their bottom pair on the river (which I think you would want). Also, you may get 3bet on the turn, and then you probably have to fold (and will sometimes be folding to the guy on tilt who has a draw...) I prefer (call, call) or (fold) in most cases, although I would raise against some. |
