No - you are a manic with the 3 bet on 5th after seat 8 paired his door. I realize this is .25/.50 and people can get out of line, but he should know you have at least Jacks up and yet he is raising you, think about your opponents hand in addition to your own.

Always be skeptical when someone pairs their door card, especially when they get really agro.

I think after I get raised on 5th I call down expecting to lose most the time.

Raising on 3rd street with just 10's is a bit maniacal as well, but I tend to play anything below jacks rather conservatively on 3rd.

You made a lot of mistakes here, the first being your raise on 3rd street. Just call here and see what develops on 4th since so many have already limped. As played, you severely overplayed your hand on 5th. You have an open pair of jacks and are getting raised by 3's on board. He is saying he can beat Jacks up and I give him trips. I probably lay it down here, but I certainly am not reraising. And then checkraising the next round? Why? If you're somehow still in, it's definitely check-call time. When you are reraised, now the pot's about big enough to peel for your boat. But you should have never gotten to this point.

Honestly, why are you raising?

Do you think you're a wus if you call? Just use your best judgment. This hand is crazy.

Because I'm a bad stud player. I was on a semi-bluff, hoping to either knock him out with my aggressive play or win a big pot by catching a miracle boat. Wrong place, wrong time, I know. Did I mention I'm not a very good player? Sometimes I think I should go back to hold 'em, which I'm much better at, but Stud is much more interesting to me. sigh... In stud, with an extra round of betting, there are more times when the pot odds (and implied odds if you hit your draw) make calling correct even though you are a dog to win the hand. In those situations, raising is wrong unless the other player may fold, because while you have pot odds to draw each additional bet you put in at even money is -EV for you. Others have commented on specific errors in this hand, but this general principle is important to remember -- it's a big difference from hold'em, where raise or fold is more often correct thinking.

Nobody will fold trip threes here, however many times you raise. Don't raise fifth, and don't raise sixth. No need to complete on 3rd either. This will be a multi-way pot whether you raise or not, and your hand isn't good enough to raise for value.

Yeah, basically what Jeffage said. In order to qualify as a semi-bluff, there has to be some chance that the other guy will fold. I think that the chance of the other guy folding to your check-raise on sixth street is close to nil.
