FLOOR! What\'s the ruling?
I recent had a floor situation that I've never seen before. Our floorman is definately good, but I don't understand how this could be the correct call.
This is at a live SnG satalite. I am in mp and it is folded to the button who raises to 800. The SB folds and the BB moves all in for just over 1000. He gets up and leaves the table for about 15-20 seconds. The button calls then asks for the floor to rule the players hand dead who had gotten up. The floor man comes and the player comes back. The floor rules his hand dead because he left the table, so the button takes him out no contest. Here is why I don't understand this. How is this any different from someone getting blinded out and then being all in on the big blind? They don't just declare his hand dead and eliminate him, they run the cards to see if he stays alive. Here we have the same situation. How can his hand be dead if there is no action on it? |

It's just foolish to abandon your cards. [ QUOTE ] How is this any different from someone getting blinded out and then being all in on the big blind? [/ QUOTE ] In our casino, if you are not present during a tourney and you are getting blinded out, your cards are mucked automatically. The cards are not run out to see if the non-present player wins. Post this in B&M for more responses. |

I'm very surprised to hear that the dealer didn't warn/advise the waltzing player before he waltz off.

[/ QUOTE ] this really has little to do with the situation being presented. in the situation you are describing, the player is never there, and his hands just get mucked. but in this situation, the guy was physically there, was dealt a live hand, put his chips and and walked off for a few seconds. i think there's no (quality) floorman in the country who would rule his hand dead. |

Re: FLOOR! What\'s the ruling?
you're right. it's stupid. I just hope you kept your mouth shut, because the last thing you want is to get involved and piss someone, especially the floorman, off

Re: FLOOR! What\'s the ruling?
While I think the ruling is completely incorrect, unless you're going to throw up or crap your pants why do you leave the table in the middle of a hand in which you are involved?!

[/ QUOTE ] Because this guy watches poker on TV and sees players go all-in and stand up and pace around, thus he thinks it's ok during a low buy-in sit n go satellite to wander around the room till the hand is over. |
