TT and a Weird Check Raise
30/60 PP 5 handed
Folded to me on the button with TT. I raise and the unknown SB calls Flop 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] SB bets and I raise, he calls Turn J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] SB checks, I bet, SB raises and I call. River 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] SB bets and I call. Thoughts? |

Re: TT and a Weird Check Raise
He either flopped a set or he didn't. I don't see playing this any differently and I'm certainly not folding anywhere. He could have something like 10 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] or something like A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] also as played. Or just a pair of 8's and he thinks you have AK. Or he hit AJ. Or he has you badly crippled with a set. Either way, I'm paying off like a slot machine.

Re: TT and a Weird Check Raise
I would play it the same way, the hand is too strong to lay down, best to just call it to the end. If one were to raise the turn then he's got a chance to push you off the hand with worse or you are putting in more money while you are beat. By just calling you also gain the benefit of him possibly following through a bluff on the river, raising the turn just pushes him out if he's bluffing.
