With the line you took, checking both flop and the turn I would fold to the turn bet unless I had a really good read, in which case I would check raise all in.

blinds aren't high enough to push preflop with 77

Why not? there's 700 out there and you have 2000 after posting. I'm a pretty big fan of increasing my stack by 1/3 without a showdown.

I'm not saying that it's necessarily the best play in this spot, just that your blanket statement is wrong IMO.

We have 2400 after posting both blinds. Pushing also depends on when the blinds are going up.

I think I reshove preflop. Calling OOP with a pair of sevens just isn't my style. I definitely go for the check-raise on the flop, but I don't continue in on the turn.

In this spot, I really like bringing my FE to the table against the dead money of the minraiser with a decent hand, and pick up chips here.

The way you played it, you gotta give it up.
