villian seemed to play a lot of speculative hands. not too sure about this, as I had only been at the table for 1 or 2 orbits. anyway, is this the right place to push?

avg stack was about 12k.

Yes, I think that you made a good play. Some people will argue just calling and then pushing if no Ace or King comes on the flop. I like the push much better. In order to call, you have to commit 1/3 of your stack. So I say push and put the difficult decision on the villain.

Yes. Good push for a bunch of reasons:

1. You've got an excellent hand that's got about a 70% chance of winning that matchup.

2. The bigger stacks are starting to pull pretty far ahead of you. The blinds are getting steep. You need to make a move pretty soon, or doubling up won't matter. This is an excellent time to do it.

3. Pushing isolates the opponent. If you call and end up playing a 3-way pot with another caller, it'll be tricky getting paid on a good board and not going broke on a bad one.

Too bad about the results. But you played smart poker. Do that often enough and the cash will sort out fine.

yep looks good.. You're probably at worse QQ vs. AK and a little favourite.. at best you're probably 70-30 or even about 80-20 against an underpair.
