If his stats are such that aces up is a reasonably likely hand for him here, checkraise and call a 3-bet. I think the ideal amount of river bets in this situation for your hand is somewhere between 2 and 3.

If he's on the tighter side, bet and call a raise because you don't want him checking behind A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] etc.

bet call looks like the best way to get a bet from Axd and 2 bets looks a good number to put in on the river when you get raise. 3-betting it seems very unlikely you get called by a worse hand enough.

no stats? read?

default is bet/call.

lots of hands he can have that are 'freerolling' in his mind

yes he can have the higher sets, but 2pairs/top pair flush draw combos are WAY more likely and just as likely to cap

checking this river, imo, is bad...and betting and folding imo is stupid... so its c'r or bet/call...id go with the latter,..

if you have reads that states he SUCKS and blows all goats then by all means bet/3bet

why does no one want to checkraise? is it likely the river is checked thru by the hands we beat, yet 3bet by the hands better.

if you c'r and are 3 bet you are way more likely to be behind than if you bet and call a raise.

if you check he may check behind the weaker flush draw aces that he can cap on teh turn, and if he raises you can call AND still win...

but if you checkraise and he 3 bets youa re now making a crying call.

betting imo is just straight better from almost any perspective b/c a c'r accomplishes little w/ more risk and puts more bets in the pot when behind.
