Empire 400NL full ring.
Villain is mouse-tacular. He has $394, I cover. He is about 12/4/2 I get 5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] in BB Villain raises to $8 UTG. All fold to SB, who calls. I call. Flop (3 players) is 2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] SB checks, I check, Villain bets $12. SB folds, I call. Turn (2 players) is A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] I bet $30 Since he min. raised UTG PF, he either had AK or a pair. Once the 2nd Ace came down, it sure seemed like a pair. So who likes/hates this? |

Yes, seems like a pair to me too but betting the flop is better. If called unimproved, take a free card and river a 5.
I'm not sure he believes your turn bet until you fire a 2nd barrel on the river. |

I think I like. Although I tried the exact same line yesterday with a small pp from the blinds, on a J-rag-rag flop. Preflop minraiser made a CB, I called. When another J came on the turn, I led into him representing trip jacks. He raised me so my read/guess was off and I had to fold. Anyways....
I disagree with previous poster about betting the flop and second barrels and all that. It's perfectly logical here that you have Ax, and it's the most likely time that you will get him to lay down a hand that beats you like 88-JJ. I might have bet a tad more than $30 though to make his decision a bit tougher. |
