Top Pair Weak Kicker from the blind against a LPP
Here is the situation from this hand. I am curious mainly about my flop raise and my turn bet. MP1 is a 49.5/0/0.65 over 85 hands.
PokerStars 1/2 Hold'em (10 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is BB with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. 1 fold, UTG+1 calls, 1 fold, MP1 calls, 3 folds, Button calls, SB completes, Hero checks. Flop: (5 SB) A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (5 players) SB checks, Hero checks, UTG+1 checks, MP1 bets, Button folds, SB folds, Hero raises, UTG+1 folds, MP1 calls. Turn: (4.50 BB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero bets, MP1 calls. River: (6.50 BB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero checks, MP1 checks. Final Pot: 6.50 BB Here is my reasoning for my plays: After his flop bet, I figured he could have almost anything in his hand, from another ace (chances are it will be a better ace), Or a good Jack like KJ, QJ, or even TJ. He may have been on a flush draw, but I haven't seen him semi-bluff any flush draws over this small sample size. I raised the flop to get it heads up against somebody that could have almost anything, I didn't really want UTG+1 tagging along. After he didn't reraise the flop, I figured his hand wasn't that good, so I went ahead bet the turn, hoping for a fold due to my flop check-raise, but not terribly unhappy with a call. On the river, I assumed I was beat, but I honestly did not know. Am I ahead of his range here? |

Bet the flop.
The way you played it a river bet is for value. |
