Default QQ problem

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (10 handed) converter

MP3 ($49.75)
CO ($50)

Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.25. CO posts a blind of $0.50.
1 fold, Hero raises to $1.5, UTG+2 calls $1.50, 6 folds, BB raises to $3.5, Hero calls $2.50, UTG+2 calls $2.50.

Flop: ($12.75) 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players)
BB bets $9, Hero ???
Bought in for $25 (I like starting with a short stack early) and have played about ten hands at the table and have no previous record of the BB in PT. I put him on TT+ AK, pre flop (good range? or am I giving him too much credit, he hasnt done anything out of the ordinary so far) What it your move v. an unknown on the flop?

You have QQ, <50BB and got 10%+ of your stack in PF. You have to push, although if he calls you're hand is often not good.

You're probably beat here but if you're gonna play the half-stack game you probably should be pushing QQ pretty hard.

Your biggest mistake is your small raise preflop. Raise more.

Why can't he fold here? Is villain gonna fire this flop this hard w/ AK. Maybe, probably not. I think hero is not good here very often. Frankly, If im shortstacked like hero Im jamming it up UTG, 3 betting, and getting the rest in on any flop.

few reasons why in a .25/.5 NL game, I would raise 4-5x BB with QQ from UTG position...

1 is you have to protect your position, you are in early position, which is no good, so your ideal goal should be to get heads up..
2 is you have QQ, definitely a premium hand, however, two overs makes QQ out of position a very vulnerable hand
3 is people in the lower Small Stakes NL games will call 3x BB with crap. Make them pay to get in with their crap.
