10/20 against a twoplustwoer
villain in this hand is a pretty well known twoplustwoer. i dont know if he knows who i am or even if he knows im a tag or not. i dont play 10/20 6max so villain may not even have any stats on me. ive been at the table for about an hour with him.
i know i played this hand terribly but im still not even sure what the right line is in this situation. i definitely think the donkbet on the turn was poor and should have just checkcalled down. what do you guys think about preflop as well? hero is BB with Th3h villain raises from the button, sb folds, i call. flop is 2c3c4c hero checks, villain bets, hero raises, villain 3bets, hero calls. turn is 8s hero donkbets, villain raises, hero calls river is Qd hero checks, villain bets, hero calls |

Re: 10/20 against a twoplustwoer
I would have folded preflop. Is this a standard defense?
Getting past preflop, I would have played the flop the same. But after that I would check/call the turn and river. I don't want to pay any more than 2 BB to see showdown and I'm not worried about a free card as most 2+2ers aren't taking them these days. Given that you smoothbet the turn, I would call the raise and check/fold the river. I think your hand is clearly defined and the 2+2er isn't betting the river with an unpaired A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. |

I fold to the turn raise. You're beat.

Re: 10/20 against a twoplustwoer
standard fold preflop, IMO.
i don't really like c/r on this flop. i'd prolly bet/call flop. or check call flop and donk turn. possibly c/r turn. am i wrong to want to wait to see the turn card before i get mcnasty? if he is holding overs with an ace......or a club.... his equity should be pretty good on the flop. |

Fold preflop. Don't donk the turn, and when you do, fold to the raise.

[ QUOTE ]
I think your hand is clearly defined and the 2+2er isn't betting the river with an unpaired A. [/ QUOTE ] As what? * If Villain is 3betting flop with a draw and our Hero bets into him on turn I dont see why he should raise a draw again? Villain would then risk being 3bet and having to call because he got a draw. Our Hero betting turn makes sense if he will fold if raised (he saves 1BB). But if he wants to take this to showdown even if he is raised - if he dont trust the information a turnraise gives him - then donkbetting makes little sense. * I personally dont like calling with 2 and 3 preflop, will almost always hit bottom pair which is tricky to play. If button raises a lot I would defend with T5s. |

Re: 10/20 against a twoplustwoer
Defending with a hand that includes a 2 or 3 is probably a leak.
I either check-call flop, donk turn or check-call the entire way if opponent is aggressive enough. |

Re: 10/20 against a twoplustwoer
Man, that's ugly.
Easy fold preflop. c/ring the flop is, IMHO, the worst of your options. Bet out or check/call and donkbet a blank turn. Why in the world would you call a turn raise? Are you just a sucker for punishment on the river? |

Re: 10/20 against a twoplustwoer
I either check-fold the flop or check-call until an Ace, 5, or club hits. This looks like the ultimate reverse implied odds hand and I would be really unhappy about calling down after getting raised, which I think is quite likely to happen either on the flop or the turn if I bet.
Am I out of my mind to ever check-fold the flop? Thanks, Cartman |
