Future Generations Of Poker Personalities
With the increasing size of players participating in tournaments, a particular 'intresting or prefered' player to watch on the television would eventually decrease.
Would this factor hurt the televised publicity of poker as we are less likely to see "the big names" appear at a final table? Or would this factor be counterfieted as we introduce new and unheard personalities to the game? |

It'd be great to see a monkey at a WSOP final table, get beat by a two outer and bite the vilian's ear off.

Re: Future Generations Of Poker Personalities
Three points:
1) I think the "interesting" players will do well enough in enough televised tourneys so that this won't be an issue most of the time for awhile. 2) The major sports have new stars emerge all the time - because they're good, they're interesting, or both. Poker will be the same way. 3) There will be lots of invitation-only tourneys for the famous names to show off in. |
