2 hands for you to lambast me for
BB in Hand 1 and MP in Hand 2 is a complete ass. One of those, I'll play anything preflop and try to outplay you postflop while talking trash the entire time. After I opened from the button with JTs, he reraised to $20 from the BB with 32s and kept telling me not to steal his blind. I'm looking for ideas on these hands here.
Hand 1: Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 max, 5 handed) converter Button ($366.55) Hero ($361.02) BB ($203.45) UTG ($102.93) MP ($29.04) Preflop: Hero is SB with 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. Hero posts a blind of $1. <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, MP calls $2, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, Hero (poster) completes, BB checks. Flop: ($6) T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font> <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $4</font>, BB calls $4, MP pushes 27.04, Hero? Hand 2: Edit: I should add. When I bet the flop, villain typed "hmm, do you have the K? I don't think you do." Then he called. Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ Hero (6 max, 5 handed) converter SB ($364.55) Hero ($394.06) UTG ($198) MP ($195.45) Button ($108.63) Preflop: Hero is BB with J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $1. UTG calls $2, MP calls $2, Button calls $2, SB (poster) completes, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $13</font>, UTG folds, MP calls $13, Button folds, SB folds. Flop: ($36) K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font> <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $25</font>, MP calls $25. Turn: ($86) 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font> Hero checks, <font color="#CC3333">MP bets $5</font>, Hero calls $5. River: ($96) Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font> Hero checks, MP checks. Final Pot: $96 |

Re: 2 hands for you to lambast me for
1st hand, good call. He's a short stack (and probably a poor player). You're 50%+ to win against his pair [AT?]. The first caller presents a problem. A sizable reraise from him tells you its time to fold.
Second hand, I would bet half the pot on the turn. A lot of players will call that flop with any pocket pair, thinking you're making a continuation bet from your preflop raise. If he calls the turn bet, check the river. Call 1/2 pot bet on the river, fold 1/2+ pot bet. |

Re: 2 hands for you to lambast me for
Hand 1: Call
Hand 2: I think this is fine given how passively he played the turn. The other option to consider is a blocking bet, but I like your line better. If you had AA I would check the flop, but JJ is too vulnerable to overcards. |

Re: 2 hands for you to lambast me for
Everyone's commenting on how they like my line in Hand 1 but I haven't acted. Call or push after MP pushes?

Re: 2 hands for you to lambast me for
Hand 1 - I assume you bet with the intention of getting it all in on the flop if played with, well now you can. Push is fine now. Fold is also ok, as BB might wake up with something hot.
Hand 2 - check-raise all-in on the turn, villain has nothing, dont let him push you around / hit his hand |
