6Max AKs hand - totally standard or not?
I'm just starting out in the adventure that is 6 max, so expect a lot of questions in the next few days! No reads here, except everyone at the table is too loose and too passive.
I have AK [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] UTG. I raise, called in one spot and by both blinds. Flop is 5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], checked to me, I bet, all call. Turn is 7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], checked to, me I check and UTG+1 bets. Everyone calls, so getting 10-1 I call. Turn is 3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], I check/fold. |

Re: 6Max AKs hand - totally standard or not?
I think I'm folding the turn. Board is damn coordinated, just became even more coordinated and no one is going anywhere. I give you 3 outs if that.

Re: 6Max AKs hand - totally standard or not?
How do you figure that 10:1 is enough to call w/ 3 outs?
I would fold here. (on the turn) |

Re: 6Max AKs hand - totally standard or not?
PFR and continuation bet just ok (although flop texture not great)
Turn is a fold, its unlikely UTG+1 is betting with A high in this ultra coordinated board. At best you have 3 discounted overcard outs which you need more than 10-1 to call. You can play more aggressively if this become HU on the flop but with a boat load of ppl coming along, you're likely beat or "drawing" extremely thin. Fold and move on. Hope this helps. (whats the stakes here .5/1, 1/2?) |

Turn is close between betting again and check/folding. Depends on how retarded your opponents are. Turn is a definite fold, though, when it's bet to you. I think your outs are dirty to begin with.

Re: 6Max AKs hand - totally standard or not?
Crap, this was .5/1 (always leave that out). I agree, if someone had bet straight into me I would've been gone. But, with the bet coming from the only last player AND the fact that there was no CR and I was completing the action, I think it is a marginal call at worst.

Cool, glad I posted this then. I guess I'm thinking "Ooh, 6 max, everyone's FOS" when they probably aren't. Leak fixed!

[/ QUOTE ] This is actually not as good as you might think. While it's good that you are closing the action, you know for a fact that 3 players like their hands enough to put in a big bet. They aren't all drawing. You could be up against a full house, straight, trips, a flush draw, a straight draw, 2 pair, or an ace or king that has you dominated. There's just too many ways you are throwing away a bet or more here, especially if you improve. Note it would be much better for you if the 7's were paired. |
