I don't know what you want us to say here. I don't see anything wrong with this necessarily. You called preflop to try and hit a set against 2 random hands. You missed, and got out of the way.

EDIT - are you talking about the SB betting 30 on the turn?

I would raise preflop to about t80, you probably have the best hand and you don't want to be against multiple opponents post flop. And if you hit a set your hand is disguised and you've built a pot.

this would be my standard (except to t90, ho hum). lately i've become much more (much too?) concerned with keeping a good steal image for later, especially with the guys just to my left. if i fold to a resteal, or fold when my cbet gets c/r'ed, that sucks a lot, and it's only 45 chips out there. at 25/50 i auto-raise.

Most people don't regard raises in level 1 and 2 as steal raises, because there just aren't enough chips in the pot to make steals all that worth it But you're not raising to steal the blinds, you are raising for value. You probably have the best hand and you have position. This is an easy raise if you play well post flop.

I think I understood this, but is it really worth it to put a nice piece of your stack out there defending 66?

ps, what buy-in is this?

I think you played it right. There are many ways to play small pocket pairs in position. Durron's is a popular method. I prefer the good old limp/check/fold here. If you raise and don't flop your set,and you won't most times, you end up bleeding chips you will need later.

Open raising here (not to beat a dead horse) will allow you to take down a t45 pot this is not enough for me because I am also putting myself in a positin where I might have to put more chips in the pot with a hand I really dont' like. So I've exposed myself and my risk return is too small

straight flushes,

SAM

this is 30+3.

by "defending 66," do you mean limping or raising?
