Default Double Shootouts on Stars

I know most people here do not play on Stars but i have noticed that have started to run $100 + $9 double shootouts 2 or 3 times a day. I was wondering if anyone had played these and if people think there is any long term value in playing them vs normal sngs?

For those who do not know how they work. 81 people enter on 9 tables. The winner of each table advance to another sng were everyone wins prize money. It seems pretty good assuming you could make the final table.

What sort of winning % would you need to make this profitable?

Also Stars run various satellites in this format. Do people think a snger would have a better time in a double shootout satelite vs a multi table satellite?

its certainly a better structure than PP's goofy shootout structure.

That structure put me in the WSOP main event last year so I like it!

I would think an analysis of your stats in playing 2 $109s vs playing the double shoot out is in order. The probabilities, IMO, should come out even, with the shootout having a little more of a lottery element to it.

The probabilities probably will come out close to even, but I think for most $109ers this would not be as profitable as regular SNGS. In these there is no real bubble so that whole aspect of the game is gone. Also, I think it is worth noting that the level of competion of the final 9 will most likely be better than a regular SNG since they each had to win the first table.

This is very different from 2 SnGs in that the first is a winner take all so there's no bubble.

Thanks for the analysis guys. That was what i figured that with no bubble and a tougher 2nd table, normal sngs would be better value for money. However, they do have 15 minute levels so in theory if you are more skillful then your opponents you should have more of an advantage then in a normal sng.

I am considering playing in the double shootout satellites for the WSOP etc this time around. What adjustments do you have to make to your normal sng game to win a double shootout?
