76s- nut straight I never raise.....proper?
BB is laggy, somewhere around 60/6/1.5
SB is an unknown at this point through 1 orbit, however has play 4 out of 10 hands and has yet to take aggressive action Hero is button with 7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Pty 5/10 PF: TP UTG limps, TP MP3 limps, Hero limps on button, SB completesw, BB checks Flop: (5-players) (5SB) 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] SB Bets, BB Raises, folded to hero who calls, SB calls Turn: (3 players) (5.5BB) 5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] SB checks, BB bets, Hero calls, SB calls River: (3 players) (8.5BB) 2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] BB bets, hero calls... I was comfortable with the PF call. ALthough the BB played a lot of hands he did not raise excessively. On the turn and river, I felt it was probable the BB was either bluffing or on a weak made hand, I did not really know what the SB had although, a 9 or mid PP seemed likely. |

i don't like it. Raise the turn. SB will fold and BB will 3 bet too often to do this.

I'm not positive that I'd call the 2 bets cold on the flop with only 4 outs to the nuts, but you're getting 4:1, and the ten would have to gutshot somebody to make a straight that tops you, so . . . eh.
Raise the river. The BB will almost certainly call, so you lose nothing if the SB folds, and he might come along for the ride. |

Re: 76s- nut straight I never raise.....proper?
I think this is a bad spot to go for an overcall on the river. You only have one player to act behind you, and you have an aggressive player betting into you, who might be willing to go more bets on an innocuous board like this. So to gain anything the LAG would have to be bluffing, and the guy behind needs to have a hand good enough to call.
I think you should just raise the turn, though. Hopefully the LAG will play back at you. Also any A, 4, 6 or 7 might kill the action on the river (in fact a 4 would possibly make your hand secondbest). |
