Default Poor Notre Dame

It looks like they have finally found the coach they need to bring them back to the promised land. But how long will it be before the NFL teams that bypassed Charlie Weiss realize what a great coach he is and come calling.

I know Weiss said he was in it for the long haul, that it wasn't to be a stepping stone, etc. But we've heard that before. I hope it's not true because it would be refreshing to see someone in this position to have the integrity to keep their word.

Unrelated to the above, I wonder if Weiss throws around the expletives at practice the way he was legendary for doing while he was a coach in the NFL. It would be ironic if he did because, legend has it that the jesuits had to keep their distance from Rockne because of his language.

He absolutely undressed Lloyd Carr, which was fairly predictable. For a minute there I thought I was watching Gregg Williams trying to match wits with Bill Belichek.

BTW - what's up with Mark May completely dismissing the game with his: "Hold off on talk of a Nat'l Championship" speech? Umm, what the hell are you talking about? Did people in South Bend start calling you up in the ESPN studio after the game? Who is talking about a national championship this year? Good win for the Irish - leave it at that.
