Default Steamboatin cruises to Vegas.

We are driving to Indianapolis today and flying out early tomorrow morning. We are staying at the Luxor and we head for Arizona early Thursday morning and return late Sunday night and fly back to Indy Monday.

I have to play 5 hours a day at the Luxor for the poker room rate and plan to hit as many other poker rooms as possible in the time I have available.

I am 44 years old, 6'1.5", 300+ pounds, and not much hair.

Andy, we met right around the time Belterra opened...I was the guy sitting to your left. You met a friend of mine and I. Wanted to see if you had any plans to be in Vegas from Thursday (9-8) to early Sat (9-10)?

My buddy and I would love to hook up with you and maybe play somewhere. Let me know your plans. If you won't be there around those days, I hope you have a great trip...many fishies to you!

I stayed there in March. Nice Hotel, but the poker "room" sucks. You'll be playing very bad players at low buy ins. So you'll win or lose small amounts, which is a waste of time. I played there a couple hours before my plane left, the rest of the time I played Bellagio.

For those who are planning trips go to this site for room reviews.

If you have to be a captive player for room rates, it's better to pick a good room. My stratey is to pay for a air and hotel package and play whereever you want whenever you want.

...which doesn't work as a URL.

just go to www.allvegaspoker.com

If the MRS wants to stay in the Pyramid, guess what. I wake up early so I can log my poker room hours early and be free as a bird by 10 or 11 AM.

Paris has a poker room and rumor has it Venicetian (spelling?)is opening one soon so next trip we can stay at one of those.

so far the poker and the trip are going well.

What kind of rate/rebate are you getting at the Luxor for your 5 hours/day.

Bellagio and Wynn are $129 or $139 I think for your 5-6 hours of play per day on the weekdays (and $199 on weekends) which isn't a bad deal for those places.

Of course...that's not quite like the Gold Strike in tunica where 5 hours of play gets you a weeknight room for $25.

Still though...I was less thrilled with HAVING to play 5 of my hours at one specific room. It felt too much like actual 'work' when I was 'on the clock'.

I'm willing to try it again though on my next trip to Vegas...and might consider a lesser poker-room with a decent hotel such as the Luxor or Paris.
I'm assuming the hotel-rooms in Luxor and Paris are pretty nice.
If you're getting a $130 room for only $80 or something like that then I think I can suck it up and bring my semi-drunken 4/8 play (or whatever their 'highest' limit is) to their room instead of somewhere else.
Something I am thinking about anyway.
