How\'s this line when you feel commited to showdown?
Since i started with 5/10 i have found myself check raised on the turn about 100 times more then when i played 2/4. Quite often you get raised as a semibluff by a draw so i thought i would start 3-betting when i have position and then check behind on the river. Costs as much when behind but makes it more expensive for the villain in case he's drawing. Makes sense?
Villain in this example is 30/7.5/3.6 over just 50 hands. Party Poker 5/10 Hold'em (10 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is BB with T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. 8 folds, SB completes, Hero checks. Turn: (1 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) SB checks, Hero bets, SB raises, Hero 3-bets, SB calls. If they're going to bluff the river anyway with their draw, you should let them do that. If you feel committed to showdown, and a heart hits the river, and he bets, you're going to lose an extra bet.

[/ QUOTE ] Meaning the value of this line depends on how likely we think he is to complete his draw? Or are you suggesting that with this marginal hand, calling down and snapping off a bluff is better? |

I'm saying if he feels committed to showdown and thinks the guy is semi-bluffing a draw, why not just call down? If the semi-bluff sucks out and we're showing the hand down anyway, we lose an extra bet on the turn.
