Poker Sites Random Number Generators
Do you think all sites use RNG to determine the cards? If they do are they all the same? I have noticed some sites that the best preflop hand rarely wins. I have also been playing 2 tables and had the same hole cards and flop come down at the same time.
Which site do you think has the best RNG? Is it possible that UB programs their cards to encourage action by not being random? It seems that way to me but my experience would be to small of a sample to be correct. |

Re: Poker Sites Random Number Generators
Many sites use different generators. Some better than others. IMHO, 1 that may be flawed is Bugsys'.
BUT! Does this give someone an unfair advantage at said site? Probably not. Even if I knew the seed of the RNG, I still most likely wouldn't be able to predict the outcome of a decent rng. At the very least not with an accuracy of 1 in 52. People actually CHEATING is a much larger problem than RNG's! |

Re: Poker Sites Random Number Generators
Since a good RNG is a poker sites lifeblood, I would think that most would use true random number generation from proven physical devices - devices that are only governed by the laws of quantum physics and are proven to be non-deterministic. They probably introduce other physical factors when calculating randomness, such as time of day, network activity, mouse movement, etc.

You seem to be saying its not rigged?? |

Re: Poker Sites Random Number Generators
I think some many not be random at all. If the site were to encourage people to stay to the river the pots are larger, therefor at lower limits the rakes are larger. At UB the best preflop hand rarely wins.

I promise you that most people don't think it's rigged. If you have insider information that bad hands win, you would be stupid not to play there.... Lori |
