Default High pocket pair raises

I am noticing that many players in live games tip their hands with unusually high raises with high pocket pairs when they are trying to discourage those with over cards from playing. I also notice many of these players giving their hands up when over cards hit. Is their a bluffing strategy here that any of you exploit? In other words will you call a large raise in position and perhaps even call a continuation bet on the flop if a high card hits with the idea of taking the pot down on the turn if its checked? It seems like the amount of money one would have to risk is too much compared to the pot odds, but I would be interested in if anyone has developed a profitable strategy based on this.
