What kind of hand did u have this man on? I personally would think defense at this point. 1. If you fill in, it's possible this man also filled in. 2. He bets 300 with the 8 of clubs that hits. Just trying to get a call, amateur trap play? 3. Raise on flop, and bets into you on the turn, still don't trust it, gotta think check is the best option here to avoid him putting you all in and having to make a call when you've really gotten lost in this hand.

i dont understand why you didnt just checkraise the turn allin if you werent planning to check/fold a blank river... lots of bad things can happen on the river.
