If you're gonna fold to raise then check/call.

Even though he will check some worse hands behind that he would have called? My bet is to get value from those hands and when he raises its kinda foolish to call I think.

I disagree. I don't want to give any 9 or weaker pair (which will often be out there) a chance to take this showdown for free.

I think this river is a classic bet-fold. Without a very specific read I am totally comfortable folding to this river raise.

This hand was played perfectly in my opinion.

I think with truly no read at all, I like check-call better - i think the risk of missing a bet is offset some by the information you get.

With any sort of read that villain is on the passive side (even if that read is just a best guess based on the usual players at this limit), then I like your line.

Obviously if villain is on the aggro side of the line, I like check-call.

Yes, with no reads I want information. And if he does have a nine that river over plus 3 flush will scare him as much as it does you and he may not call anyway.

It is read specific and without reads I want some info.

I really want to see this hand at the end. Is he just passively calling with a flush draw? Is he calling with a singleton ace overcard? Does he have something like A9 and is scared of an overpair waiting til the river to raise?

you want at least 1 bet going in on the river and at most 1 bet going in on the river. the easy way to do this is to bet and fold to a raise.
