Live MTT #2
Meh. I am never playing in this tourney again. I'll be at another casino tomorrow (doesn't the Mirage have could lowish buyin live MTTs? Suggestions appreciated) 20xBB starting stacks, blinds double every 20 minutes.
I eventually bust with 4x BB in level 3 where I raise a limper with 99 get called in 4 places and lose KK vs. JJ vs. A8s; A8s wins the main pot and KK wins the much larger sidepot. But that hand is silly and low content. Here's the only interesting hand. 8 handed. I have only played one hand so far the entire tournament, I pushed in MP with 800 chips with KQo in level 2, 50/100 blinds and it folded around. Caused quite a titter at the table, too "what did he have? why such a big bet?" AT, 55, 88, AA was all theorized but no one guessed correctly. I guess they've never played online before. Few hands later (my first BB after that steal), UTG miniraises, first time he's done this. I put him on either a really big hand OR he's trying to steal my blind because he knows how tight I've been playing. UTG is a pretty loose caller, but he's been right most of the time and plays fairly decently. He stared me down for a long time with the KQo hand before folding. Folded to SB who calls. He is playing very well, picking up a lot of pots in position with continuation bets. Unfortunately the best hand I've seen in position is Q7o after a raise, so I can't do the same unless I want to play offsuit crap. I look down at J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] and call (bad?) t100 more getting 5:1 with t750 (not including the blind or the raise) more behind. Flop. 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. SB checks. I think for about 15-30 seconds. I look at UTG, and I get the distinct impression he likes his hand, but I don't play live much so who knows what that is worth. So I check instead of semibluffing. UTG bets nearly my entire stack, SB folds, and I fold. Anyone push this flop? I almost did, but decided this guy is loose and I think he will call with a better hand. |

Re: Live MTT #2
600 in the pot, with 750 in your stack, you have to push. Your overcards don't have to be good very often for you to be priced into calling a push, and with a drawing hand that makes pushing even better.
