Default Question for you Vegas golfers

Couldn't think of anywhere better to post this so sorry if it's out of place.

I'll be in Vegas in October and was looking to get in a round of golf. My buddies and I are planning on spending somewhere in the ballpark of $100 a head but we're pretty flexible on that.

Anybody know of any nice courses in that price range that aren't too far from the strip (we'll be taking a taxi from the Mandalay Bay)?

Also, I'm weighing whether or not to pack my clubs so any information about club rentals would be helpful as well.

Thanks,

Luke

Bali Hai is the closest but it is very expensive.

Las Vegas National is close to the strip, is a very nice track and is in that price range. They used to play the pro tournament there.

I have had good luck using Stand by Golf (702 597 2665). Call at 5PM the day before you want to play and you can get decent discounts.

If your referring to the Wynn course, I've heard it's open, you must be staying at the Wynn property and it runs $500. Verify this though.

On an unrelated note, but regarding the same topic. Everytime I fly out of Vegas back to the east coast I see a golf course that looks to be in the side of the mountain. Literally some of the holes like almost impossible to get a cart around. Does anybody know what this course is called? I've had not so good luck googling.

If it's on the south side of the valley, it's the Revere club in Anthem. They have two course there, the Lexington and the Concord. I played the Lexington course when I was out there in May. It is a stunningly good course.

That course looks sweet but looking at an aerial view it does not look like the course. The course I'm talking about did not really have any houses or other buildings around it. It was basically a golf course in the mountains. Maybe I'm just seeing things but I've seen it the last two times I've flown back from Vegas. The last time was Vegas to PHX and before that Vegas to PIT.
