When do I go for the kill?
Running good, still first level. Had AA early, where I crippled one guy, who's been knocked out since.
During this hand, I thought there was a good chance my opponent most likely had a high-PP w/ a spade possibility. I didn't want him to fold if he didn't, but I also didn't want to give him odds to draw to it, if he did. I just wasn't sure about how to play this hand. Oh yeah, it's the $5.50 game. Re: When do I go for the kill?
Played perfectly with the exception of preflop. Personally, I'd like a few more people in the pot before I start calling raises with JTs. It's not an awful call, mind you, but I don't really care for it.

Re: When do I go for the kill?
I'm guessing he got him self stuck with an overpair, Probably K's with the K of spades or Q's with the Q of spades.
You're pot stuck on the turn raise. Likely he saw the blank on the river and convinced himself that you were drawing. If he had 99 and flopped a set, not much you can do here, except push the flop and even then he might call. |

Re: When do I go for the kill?
well i probably woulda folded PF too, but since you didn't, i probably would have just "thought" about it for a bit on the flop and just called. i know that's giving incorrect odds if he has a single spade, but the idea is make him think i'm drawing, and hoping a non spade hits on the turn and he bets big into me. then i can raise him all in. raising the flop shows alot of strength and he might fold it if he has AK. smoooth calling the flop gives him a chance to bluff off his whole stack.

I figured I had a deep stack and the button, so I'd gamble a bit. Am I being foolish? Would the PF call be alright if the villain had more chips, say like 2400? |
