Default Mediocre top pair

This hand confused me, and I really think i played it badly. 50r on stars, 25 or so left, 18 cash. My image is probably loose and aggressive, the player in question seems to be pretty tight and solid from what i have seen, although i havent seen much.

Whats the best way to approach this. This is probably a way ahead/way behind situation, but i dont want to give him a cheap shot at a flush draw if thats what hes on, even though thats unlikely.

This is one of those shameful hands that I really screwed up and didn't think through properly, like I pledged to myself that I always would do.
