Default NYC burgers

Shake Shack - this is the best burger I've had in NYC.
Zaitzeff - this is the second best burger I've had in NYC.

These three places have been recommended to me:

Burger Joint (Le Parker Meridien)
Corner Bistro
Blue 9 Burger

Thoughts/comments/recommendations?

JG Melon, upper east side WASP hang out, damn good burgers in my opinion. I think I just love it because I grew up going there. Corner bistro is the real deal.

I'll second JG Melon. Some fun nights eating and drinking in there.

Blue 9 is an obvious and somewhat mediocre ripoff of In N Out. I like Corner Bistro but I don't like the wait.

I think Old Town has quality burgers. And Prime Burger in midtown, but you must request that they make you a fresh burger.

Generally, however, NYC has fairly crappy burgers compared to San Francisco. Bistro Burger, Moe's, Sliders, etc. And I loved Hamburger Mary's.

I assume you're referring to Jews? Yeah, some go there. They're tolerated.

Hamburger Harry's - the burger wasn't anything special, but the bartender bought me 3 shots of whiskey when the Yankees beat the Sox in the Pedro/Zimmer game!
