i've always had difficult times betting one pair on the river when my hand seems pretty transparent, in that a worse hand doeesn't seem likely to call. though the lower you get down in limits the more they'll call you down which makes value betting a bit closer.

Looks like he was on a flush draw. My guess is the times he check-raises w/the flush(and you then fold) cancel out the times he calls w/KK or QQ. I don't see him ever folding a raggy two pair or AA(he has the better kicker).

The check is fine, esp. after betting 6th, which was the actual "value bet".

Actually, since both Aces have shown, I think the other guy, if he's thinking at all, should be less inclined to give hero credit for Aces, and will therefore pay off with one pair a fair amount of the time.
