Default Strategy for a kill game

Tried searching for this one...

How do you adjust in a kill game when:
a) you have just won a hand?
b) you are posting the kill?
c) someone else is posting the kill?

EDIT: how often do kill pots generally come up?

Default Re: Strategy for a kill game

In theory there should be no adjustment whatsoever (except for the presence of an additional blind). But watch for your opponents to adjust incorrectly. I usually see one of three things:

1) Everyone limps in, wanting a piece of the action. Treat this hand like a loose game.
2) Everyone folds, scared of the bigger stakes. You can try more steals here.
3) Some people always raise their kill blind (gamblors). You can discount these raises appropriately.

One other subtlety is that some people will raise aggressively after they win one pot, trying for a kill pot. Again, treat them as a LAG.

Pretty common-sense stuff. My 100% subjective impression is that kill pots come up once every 1.5-2 orbits.
