What is wrong with a standard raise here?

Re: Bubble push?
Looks good to me. Push for 11 1/2 x BB into 5 players with ante. The bubble may make CO and BB less likely to call.
Pushing from mid position with a small pair is a standard semibluff. If you make a standard raise, how do you tell if you are ahead on the flop? Plus large stacks might try to play with you due to the bubble. |

What is wrong with a standard raise here? [/ QUOTE ] What are the antes? Depending on how aggressive the big stack has been he very well may be pushing you with any two. This is a spot where I would really rather win an uncontested pot. Especially with the way players tend to lose their collective minds immediately after the bubble pops, having between 10-15xBB gives you a decent shot at doubling (or close) your way to a stack that can contend for a top spot. That being said, Im not 100% sure this is a push. I feel like it is, but my bubble play tends to lead to a lot of near money finishes. |
