Default Emergency L.A. Restaurant Review Needed

It's my 19-year-old sister in law's birthday. The place she picked to eat is Boa in Santa Monica. Is this a place for a family to have birthday dinner? Sure as hell doesn't look like it. We are in fear for my father in law's heart when he walks into the place with his teenage daughter and the family.

Edit: I'm in NorCal and have no way to check this out other than online. My wife is freaking out. Reviews of the Vegas location would be good as well. Thanks.

I don't know anything about this place, but she's 19, not 13 or any of the other teens. I dunno, seems like over-reacting.

It does look annoying. There are far better places. For what you'll be paying there you could go to Ivy at the Shore or any number of less poser-y places with better food.

I think his concern is that his father-in-law (and the rest of the family perhaps) isn't accustomed to dining at hip trendy places such as this one, and everyone will be uncomfortable.

It looks like a $200 per plate pick up joint for agents and starlets from here. Not a family birthday party kind of atmosphere.
