A hand where I DON\'T bluff!
Villian in this hand is 25/12 or something. Probably a little too loose and aggressive overall but almost certainly a winner. I checked intending to call the river. Standard? Boring? Terrible? Awesome?

Re: A hand where I DON\'T bluff!
You missed a check-raise on the flop. Do that and the rest of the hand is perfect.

I thought the play is to check raise the turn?

Re: A hand where I DON\'T bluff!
I like the river because I can't figure out what worse hand a decent to good player will call you with if you bet out. If it were a horrible player, I'd bet the river though.
I also would have considered check raising the flop. Nicely played, all in all. |

I thought the play is to check raise the turn? [/ QUOTE ] Probably better to check-raise the turn honestly, more equity. But the donk bet on the turn screams "did you forget to raise the previous street?" Also, check-raising the turn makes it very unlikely you get a bet on the river, so it may actually cost you .5bb against a weak opponent. |

Re: A hand where I DON\'T bluff!
Yeah, why didn't you c/r the flop?
And I love the river check. I think a lot of people routinely bet when they think they're ahead and don't look for those spots where they're not going to get called by much that they beat - and they'd be much better off trying to induce a bluff instead. |

Re: A hand where I DON\'T bluff!
I don't think there's much of a reason to c/r this flop. You'll get 3-bet by worse hands with reasonable frequency and the only hands you're likely to fold are red KQ/KJ.
I think the whole hand is played pretty well. Rob |

Re: A hand where I DON\'T bluff!
I didn't CR the flop because the board is monotone I don't have a club so my equity is greatly reduced, my opp. is aggressive so if he has a hand like AcK he will very likely 3bet me putting me in a marginal situation for the rest of the hand. I think this is good reasoning. Thoughts?

Re: A hand where I DON\'T bluff!
Yep I agree completely with this reasoning for the 3-bet.
On the river I like it as long as villain is capable of bluffing (which it looks like he is). Would you have bet if the river was a complete blank? |
