Should I fold this top 2?
Hi,
Just getting back into playing a few MTTs to get myself into shape for aruba. I just busted out of a cheap MTT sat for one of the WCOOP events. There were 17 left - top 6 paid out seats, there was a little money from 15 up. I had an average stack. My feeling is, this is a call because if I win it just about makes a certain top 6 finish for me. However, should I have waited for a better time? I knew nothing about my opponet as I had just been moved to this table. Anyway, what do you all think? Re: Should I fold this top 2?
I guess u ran into trips?
Since 2 are raising you (the last raise a big one) I would wait for a better chance. |

Oh yeah - a result would be handy - yes MP3 had limped late with JJ and took it down with his set.

Re: Should I fold this top 2?
The only hand you can be afraid of here is 55, most people I play would raise preflop with queens/jacks.
Since we know nothing about the table, I might say the pot-sized bet might be a tad too big to start with. Maybe 3000 or so would be better, but that's just preference. The short stack could probably push here with any jack, any queen, AK or any kind of hand, since he really needs the pot, so you can't really put him on anything dangerous. It's just the same with the big stack, he knows the short stack will push pretty much any kind of hand here, and might be betting big to try and isolate with something like AQ. If a good, thinking player would have a set here, he would probably just call the all-in, hoping for more action from the other people, and then betting out on the turn. The way I think, this is where you lose your money. I can't find a good reason to put any of them on 55/JJ/QQ, and there is no other hand to be afraid of. Short answer: no, you can't fold here. |
