According to Peter_rus.......
The way to measure your performance in blind stealing situations is in BB/opportunity. I think it is possible that I attempt to steal so much (over 42%) that, even if each of my blind stealing hand types is individually profitable, I would be better off stealing less because my opponenents would play back at me less. I am curious how the rest of you perform in blind stealing situations.
Here are my results filtered for "not a blind", and each of the following: "chance to steal and raised" = +$34,117 on 9977 times "chance to steal and called" = +$137 on 45 times "chance to steal and folded" = $0 on 13345 times __________________________________________________ ________ TOTAL = +$34,254 on 23,367 times = +.146 BB/opportunity. What are your results? Thanks, Cartman |

Re: According to Peter_rus.......
On the "general info"(main) page of PokerTracker, click the "Filters" button on the right side of the page about halfway down. Select "not a blind" and "chance to steal and RAISED", then click OK. Then on the "Totals" line of the middle section on the main page, write down "Net" and "Times". Repeat this process this time filtering for "not a blind" and "chance to steal and CALLED". Repeat it one last time for "not a blind" and "chance to steal and FOLDED". Then just add them up to get a "Total Net" and a "Total Times". Divide the net by the times to get $/occurence and divide that result by the size of a BB ($10 for 5/10 for example) and you will have "BB per opportunity".

Re: According to Peter_rus.......
haven't read the whole thread yet so perhaps this has already been mentioned.

Cartman [/ QUOTE ] Theory: do we need to filter for hands with 5 to 6 players at the table? if you are like me and will stick around 2-3 handed to keep playing with a super-donk then that will tend to affect the numbers I suspect. Or do we just generally think that stealing blinds success and numbers are going to be pretty much the same 3-handed as they are when you get to a steal situation in a 6-handed game? I have a mix of 3/6, 5/10 and 10/20 of late. Going only with my limited 10/20 stats which is only 6,589 hands (+2.07BB/100 so far...hoo-ray....I ran really well to start). Here are the UNFILTERED numbers (so some 3 and 4-handed situations are included): chance to steal and raised: 452 times, +$5189 chance to steal and called: 0 chance to steal and folded: 739 $5189 over 1191 times $4.35 per opportunity = 0.21bb per opportunity filtered for 3-4 players at the table: chance to steal and raised: 315 times, +3394 chance to steal and folded: 495 times +3394 over 810 times $4.19 per opportunity 0.21BB per opportunity almost no difference whatsoever. Kind of surprising considering my smallish sample-size. Thought there would be room in there just based on general variance. going back to read through the thread now to catch the general thoughts on this. I'm REALLY uncomfortable still with my blind-stealing and defending abilities. I think I'm generally pretty clueless on what i should be doing but that I'm barely on the right track. Looks like my numbers indicate that I might be marginally better than I thought perhaps. Still a very small sample though...and I know that I've been the suck-outer more than suckee lately (catching the miracle-card I needed when little did I realize I was WAY behind in the hand....also catching my full-house on the same card that gives me the flush....etc etc. Basically....in spite of possibly decent numbers I'm pretty sure I suck at this stuff) |
