Default what happens if...

from another post but i'd like to hear what happens here.

You are playing NL in a casino and have been putting your cards behind your chips all night, not being all in, you just aren't familiar that it could be construed that you mean this. You've been making standard bets and raises all night and this hasn't been an issue so far. On one particular hand a person on an angle shoot with AA asks for a ruling and says that you are all in. The house rules in this players favor. What happens if you call bs on the ruling, say you disagree with it, and pick up your chips and leave....can they force you to give your chips to your opponent? Would they physically restrain you? Just curious...never really played NL in a B&M.

I guarantee you won't be walking out of there with those chips if the floor rules that you're all in - If you wanted to act up a bit and try to leave you'd be treated like any casino thief who pulls his bet back after he realizes he's losing - maybe even arrested/jailtime - at least a banning for sure.

keep them at the rail - I got chasited for it a bit at Tropicana but didn't have anyone play an angle on me (they never had to - fuckers just kept flopping sets to beat my sets.)

I had a bigger issue at the Borgata - TT had heard a rumor there was a guy there who was an [censored] and was capping his cards with a silver dollar - and when he got all in, they asked the floor to make him throw in the silver dollar as well, since it was TECHNICALLY cash on the table -

but I never got to the felt - it was never an issue - I don't think anyone would bitch unless you were a prick, but if they got nasty I'd remove it from the table and throw a dollar bill in there - I may have to pay the cash I have on the table, but not necessarily one specific dollar.

What if you decided to take it to court? If you had a couple grand on the table in a 5-10 NL game or something, and you had this B.S. called on you?

If there's nothing in the poker room rules stating anything about "pulling your cards behind your chips = all in"..

So the rule that says, "Floor decision is final" overrides common sense?

If it's a first time player at a 1/2 table and they obviously don't know what's going on, I don't think that any decent floor would rule that way. If it's on a higher table where people should know what they're doing, then maybe.

I just can't see it being ruled all in though, because the player never moved their chips. How are you all in if your chips never physically move forward or announce it?

Actually, any chips past the cards is construed as a bet. If there is no betting line, then the cards are the commitment. Thats why players are asked to count chips out behind their cards, because once they go past them and put them down and release them, it's a bet. Unless your in Mandalay bay with their prick rules of anything in your hand when you get to your cards is automatically a bet.

But to the OP, someone should say something to the player as soon as they see this, whether it be the dealer, floor, or another player.

less about desperation and more about rubbing it in to a guy who was a dickhead at the table, from what I understand.

I'd say you would have to be treated differently from a player that tried to take back a losing bet because this is totally different....you are basically disputing a bs ruling and the best way to insure you don't get screwed is to not let them have your money in the first place. This is not nearly the same thing as trying to take back half a blackjack bet after you see the dealer turn up an ace.

I'd like to think that when you take your chips someone higher up than the floor is going to be called over and it will probably be settled at that point...almost certainly the "right" way, but i'm just guessing again I have no experience. I can't see them calling security over to "take you down" if you are just trying to avoid getting screwed, doesn't seem good for business.
