But here it is.

Under communism, all the "profit" is managed by the state. They know best what to do with it. Where to invest it, so to speak.

The net result is that no matter how hard you work, you will never rise above subsistance level.

On top of that, your village, city, region, whatever, may not be selected to receive the extra capital.

So the bottom line is that you will be kept at a subsistance level and everything "extra" you produce will be taken away.

This is how it worked in southeast asia, it was pretty damn brutal.
