Moved to 100NL -> lost huge hand -> tilted = justified?
I lost this hand, villian said a bunch of stuff basically saying he was going to not play and watch me go on tilt, yada yada. I dont really go on tilt from hands like this, but I wanted to use what he was saying. So 2-3 hands later I played an OESD pretty fast and put in a decent river sized bluff when villian checked turn. Does anyone ever make plays like this when their image is bad? Im not just talking about pf related pushes but more large raises post.
Here is the hand that got me (first big one at this level - line standard?) Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 max, 6 handed) converter SB ($166) BB ($149.75) UTG ($57.10) MP ($138.70) CO ($18) Hero ($82) Preflop: Hero is Button with K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.50. UTG calls $1, 1 fold, CO raises to $3, Hero calls $3, SB (poster) calls $2.50, BB calls $2, UTG calls $2. Just to make it clear, I didnt actually tilt (fumed a little), but it didnt affect my play in an undesirable way

Re: Moved to 100NL -> lost huge hand -> tilted = justified?
I think frankly, the river call is awful. Do you really think your hand is good on a 3-flush, paired board?
As for your question about your play several hands later, I dont think bluffing the river when you are presumed to be "on tilt" is the situation you are looking for. You generally want to have a monster that someone will pay off. EDIT: Feck, I misread the action. My apologies. I still dont think this was played well. But not quite as bad as it looked. The answer to question 2 still applies. |

Allin on turn, good reading.
I figured that would be standard response about bluffing. Have to see though. And to clarify, the board was the kind of board I would have liked for villian acting passive and me betting aggressive |

Re: Moved to 100NL -> lost huge hand -> tilted = justified?
I might not have made this flop call personally, but I suppose it's okay with ~10 outs w/ 4 to the nuts getting 4.75-1. My concern is that you could be reverse dominated by AQ or KQ and that spiking one of your overcard outs on the turn could be expensive, even though your immediate pot odds are good. Being in position does lessen these concerns, of course.
Bluffing or semi bluffing aggressively after you lose a big hand like this is probably not a good idea. Other than that, bad luck man. I'm sorry this happened to you. I know it must be incredibly frustrating. |

This hand is fine, why don't you post the bluff hand?

line standard? [/ QUOTE ] getting all your money in with the nuts on the turn is a pretty standard play at all levels. you should be very happy with it. |

Re: Moved to 100NL -> lost huge hand -> tilted = justified?
Do beats like this happen to a lot of people when they move up? I moved up and got stacked off on the first hand when I hit a set on the flop with 88 after the pot was raised 6XBB pre-flop. The flop came 568r, I pushed, got called by 79. strange business, this poker!
