Opinions on overall poker/holdem focus to choose
I like holdem so I have only really been playing this.
I understand that there are posts which sort of answer this question but nothing has proved helpful. If you would spend a second writing, quick message if you like, concisely outlining why you should play NL Cash, Limit Cash, or NL Tournaments ST or MT, or some combination. This would be with respect, mostly, to highest profitability over time studying in the long run. Thanks. |

Limit Hold 'em.
It's the simplest place to start out. Mistakes are cheaper when starting out. There are better books available (WLLH, GSIH, SSH etc). You can earn a decent amount -- more than tournaments and somewhat comparable to NL. Then move on to tournaments, SNG and NL when you need a change. I would suggest learning limit, but when you need a change play some low buy-in NL SNGs. They are pretty easy to beat and will give you a grounding in NL when you feel like learning that game properly. |

I think limit cash games are the best route to take as well.

limit
very available, and you only need to read one book to get a very good grasp and immediatly start crushing low limit games. NL cash games are boring as you can't play many hands and only nut peddle in low limits SNGs only teach you so much and only take you so high MTTs will take way too long to master |
